I use to go when I was little and I love all the memories I have of Malagash
I visited Malagash Bible Camp on two separate occasions between 1984 and 1986. Although I no longer live in Nova Scotia, in Britsh Columbia now. Two things I will always remember are the fellowship and the awesome scenery! Thanks for the memories!
My brother Glenn and I went to Malagash with a handful of our Dartmouth mates back in 1975-76. We had a fantastic time. None of us were connected to a specific church at the time. We just loved the camaraderie, the fun and most of all, the stories told by the very nice old fellow. I can’t be certain of his name but Uncle Joe sounds familiar. He told us a scary but moving bedtime story each night about a guy whose faith helped him through the tremendous pain of a horrible disfiguring fire. A frightening tale told with such great storytelling skill and compassion that I can recall it vividly today. And as for Malagash itself, I remember counsellors including Ian Munroe very fondly and can still sing the Camp theme song word for word…”We’re anchored in at Malagash, our salvation is secure…” My mom used to pay a bunch of the fees so that the poorest kids on our street could go to Malagash, even though we were barely better off than they were. She knew it was a calm, healthy and nurturing break from all the hardships in their day to day lives. Special memories of a special place.
im going to malagash this year i went last year and the year before i think this camp is a great and educational place to learn
It was my pleasure to take the family and visit for the day. Many changes but still some great things happening. Love Rob Lennox (Higgins)
